I was looking for a model to sit so I could practise and finish off a portrait a bit more than the usual classes. After I had created a portrait of each of Marybeth’s two poodles she volunteered to sit for a couple of 2hr sessions so I could ‘play’.
The painting I did of her was a cross between my usual unfinished colourful practise portrait and my commissioned work.I wanted to use colour freely but be a bit more refined.
Unlike the class portraits I managed to capture a smile and some of her personality in the sittings,
