Aarky died unexpectedly and Jessica wanted a suprise portrait for her mother on Mother’s day. She didn’t have many good photos of him.
The original reference photo ( below) wasn’t good enough – too dark , blurry and drab.
The original photo wasn’t clear enough to paint from.
I use two photos – one for Aarky’s head and one for his body.I placed the new head on his body. This is never as good as using one sharp photo but sometimes it is the only way to create a memorial portrait.
