‘It’s gorgeous!!”
Although it looks simple here this was a large complicated portrait. We used about 12 different reference photos to create the portrait. As it is going to be in a large room it is designed to be viewed from about 10- 15′ away.
I took the 2 horses from 2 different photos. I used one of Cheryl holding the chestnut horse and had to mirror reverse him and make up her legs which where hidden by the dogs. I placed the black horse ( All Zipped Up) in the portrait and had to create the saddlery that was hidden by Cheryl’s body.
Cheryl and her horses won Reserve Champion Western Pleasure at the 2009 Equitana.
