Examples of the type of reference photos preferred for a portrait -If your pet has passed on and the photos you have aren't as good as these please contact me as sometimes we can find a way around the problem and can still do a painting. |

Suitable photo for a head only portrait- Notice that you can see the details of his eye and nose colour and the shape of his nose. I can see the facial structure , his cheeks and 'smile'. Everything is in focus. We could even improve on this one as it is better if your pet is looking at you. |

Suitable photo for a full body portrait -
This one isn't ideal as the rear of his body is cut off but because there isn't much missing I can fix that. If you are taking photos for a full body portrait take the general pose ( like this one) and then zoom in and take one of the face full frame at the same angle. That will give me good detail in the face so I can do a better portrait. I can just use the one full body photo for the portrait so long as when it is enlarged it is a good enough quality to stay sharp! |

I can use these and have , but the better the photo the better the resulting painting ! Show me what photo's you have as I can sometimes find a generic breed photo and use your photo plus that to help me complete your portrait. |
